He has been involved in many large multi-jurisdictional restructurings and insolvencies. He has considerable experience in the energy sector spanning well over a decade. He advised a sponsor on the restructuring of the finances of two Dutch power projects. He is advising a group of lenders to an oil production company with interests in the North Sea as well as in other jurisdictions around the world. His is currently advising the lenders to a power project in West Africa. He has also advised on a number of restructurings of large infrastructure projects including Eurotunnel, where he acted for the providers of the new facilities and as advisor to an airport concession in North Africa. Prior to İstanbul Portföy, Onur served as Country Head for Alcazar Energy, a Dubai based renewable energy fund, for more than 3 years. Total nominal value of renewable energy projects originated and due diligenced under his management was more than USD 400m. During his term in Alcazar, Onur also covered Greek Renewable Energy Market and originated renewable energy portfolio with an aggregate size of more than 1.5GW.
Before joining Alcazar, Onur was Business Development Manager for SunEdison, globally the biggest renewable energy developer of its time where he managed M&A and BD activities of energy projects with more than USD 800m worth.
Onur holds two Master’s degrees, an Executive MBA from Boğaziçi University and Energy Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University, US. He is also the author of a globally sold book on hydrocarbon based alternative energy resources.
After graduated from Lycée Saint-Joseph in 1996, he graduated from Galatasaray University with a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration and Political Science in 2001 and a MBA degree from Universitat Oberta de Catalunya, Spain.
Mr. Erol began his professional career working at Doğuş Holding between 2002 and 2006, for various resposabilities in construction and tourism sectors. As of 2007, relating with foreign direct investments, he served as the Head Project Manager and Chief Advisor at The Investment Office of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey
In the years of 2010 – 2012 and 2015 – 2016, Mr. Erol was reintegrated to private sector, Turkerler Holding first as Business Development Coordinator and then as the Deputy General Manager of Energy to coordinate and execute project development, investment, project finance and M&A’s on wind, geothermal and hydroelectric projects.
Between 2012 and 2014, Mr. Erol became the CEO of Aksan Law Firm, one of the largest Turkish law firms. In the meantime, he was also the Managing Partner to Altarys Consulting, an international business development advisory company.
Since 2016, he is working as the General Manager at RES Anatolia, the Turkish subsidiary of RES GROUP, a prominent global renewable energy company, expert on project development and investments in wind, solar and energy storage activities with a portfolio over 17 GW.
Mr.Erol acts also as the Secretary General of TÜREB, Turkish Wind Energy Association since March 2019
He has been involved in many large multi-jurisdictional restructurings and insolvencies. He has considerable experience in the energy sector spanning well over a decade. He advised a sponsor on the restructuring of the finances of two Dutch power projects. He is advising a group of lenders to an oil production company with interests in the North Sea as well as in other jurisdictions around the world. His is currently advising the lenders to a power project in West Africa. He has also advised on a number of restructurings of large infrastructure projects including Eurotunnel, where he acted for the providers of the new facilities and as advisor to an airport concession in North Africa. Adrian Cohen is the co-editor of a two volume book Global Insolvency and Bankruptcy Practice for Sustainable Economic Development with Tarek Hajjiri, Former Director of Legal Policy at Dubai Economic Council, published by Palgrave Macmillan.
Nowadays his attention is more towards data science applications,modeling, machine learning, designing and operating algorithms in Turkish Energy Markets in order to serve power market participants. Energy Pool Turkey is operating on behalf of 37 generation or consumer plants with a total installed power of 3,7GW.
Mr. Akgün holds an MSc in International Business degree and a CEMS (Community of European Management Schools) MSc in International Management degree respectively from Norwegian School of Economics and University of St. Gallen, Switzerland. He has graduated from Yıldız Technical University, Istanbul with a major in Economics, in 2004.
2009-2010 yılları arasında Enerjisa’da Strateji ve İş Geliştirme Müdürlüğü görevi sırasında Sabancı Üniversitesi Executive MBA programını da tamamlamıştır.
2018 yılı sonundan itibaren Kalyon Enerji Grubu’nda Deputy CEO olarak görevine devam etmekte olan İbrahim Erden bu görevinin yanında Güneş Enerji Yatırımcıları Derneği’nda Başkan Yardımcısı, Türkiye Rüzgar Enerjisi Birliği’nde Yönetim Kurulu Üyesi ve DEK-TMK bünyesinde Yenilenebilir Çalışma Grubu Başkanı olarak rol almaktadır.
