Country Director, Vice President, Enterprise Investors Romania Serban joined Enterprise Investors in 2008 and he is currently Country Director for Romania and Vice-President. Serban Roman’ responsibilities include coordination of the firm’s investment activity in Romania and deal development. He was a member of the supervisory boards of Profi Rom Food (supermarket chain) and Macon Deva (construction materials manufacturer) and he currently holds the position of President of the Board of Directors of Noriel (the largest toys retailer in Romania). He is also a board member of South Eastern Europe’s Private Equity Association (SEEPEA). Prior to joining EI, Serban worked for Ernst & Young (now EY) and for the M&A division of Unicredit in Bucharest. He graduated from the Romanian Academy of Economic Studies and is a fellow member of ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants). She has orchestrated the establishment of Turnaround Management Association Croatia (TMA Croatia) and the Croatian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (CVCA). For many years she has successfully combined the high-profile consultancy assignments and academia, working as a Lecturer at the Zagreb School of Economics and Management. She also served as Assistant Minister at the Croatian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration. Prior to her return to Croatia in 2004, she was based in London and held corporate and structured finance positions at major investment banks including Merrill Lynch, BNP Paribas and Credit Agricole Indosuez.
She holds an MBA from INSEAD, an undergraduate degree in Economics (BSc Econ) from the London School of Economics and has completed Investment Management and Corporate Finance programmes at the London Business School. She speaks six languages: English (fluent), French (fluent), Italian (fluent), Spanish (fluent), Russian (good) and Croatian (mother tongue).
Prior to joining EI, Serban worked for Ernst & Young (now EY) and for the M&A division of Unicredit in Bucharest. He graduated from the Romanian Academy of Economic Studies and is a fellow member of
